Now that 2017 is finally here, it's time to gain back that motivation and become the person you were meant to be. On top of that, it's time to become the best version of yourself in 2017.

You have to get motivated and you have to take the tips below to heart. You have to incorporate these tips into your life -- well, if you plan on being the best version of yourself, that is.

People are capable of so much greatness. You can do what you want to do. You can become the person you were meant to be. Get focused, motivated and hungry in 2017. Follow the tips below so you can become the best version of yourself in the new year.

    Go to sleep at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. Routine is everything.

    Make planning out your days a top priority. Make your schedule at night and revisit it in the morning.

    Revisit your goals and dreams early and often so you don't lose focus of the big picture, and so you also stay motivated and hungry.

    Attach deadlines next to your goals and make plans for them. By doing that, you will force your goals into your life and you will also have to reach these goals by a certain deadline.

    Don't be afraid to take breaks at work in 2017. In fact, if your mind is not right, then take as many breaks as you need -- well, as long as they are brief and you don't abuse them, that is. Breaks help you get your mind right and they could lead to you doing your best work when you return from them. Feeling refreshed is the name of the game with breaks.

    Build good habits by making a schedule that fits your needs and one that you can stick to.

    Be consistent, because that's how you build good habits.

    Start eating healthy and join a gym (or incorporate an exercising program in general).

    Treat people with kindness and respect.

    Know what you're worth, and then go out and get what you're worth.

    Stop taking people, things and opportunities for granted.

    Eliminate distractions when you are working. Don't let Facebook, the TV and things of that nature win. When it's time to work, work -- no exceptions.

    Don't be afraid to fail, because everyone does.

    Instead of wasting all of your free time, use it to your advantage. Hang out with friends and family. Pick up a hobby. Do the things you love.

    Instead of complaining about your current situation, use that time to make it better.

    Try to gain as much knowledge as humanly possible, and read more books.

    Eliminate the negative things in your life, such as people, mindsets and attitudes.

    Take a risk.

    Enjoy yourself. It's okay to be happy, and you deserve to be.

    Always look for ways to make yourself a better person.

    Have a positive mindset and always -- always! -- look at the glass half full.

    Follow your dreams. Once again, everyone deserves to be happy and everyone deserves the opportunity to follow their dreams. Make that leap this year by chasing your dreams.
