How bad do you want to be successful? If you aren't willing to take a major risk, a risk that could change your life for the better, then you do not want to achieve success bad enough.

Dropping that to a smaller scale, if you aren't willing to eliminate certain things from your life, then you clearly do not care about success bad enough. No matter which industry you are trying to conquer or how big of a mountain you are trying to climb, you have to eliminate three things from your life. If you do, then you will start the process that is welcoming success back into your life.

Procrastination

Procrastination is a success killer. It not only leads to you missing deadlines, but it also could lead to you not doing your best work. Not to mention, procrastination leads to unwanted -- and unnecessary -- stress.

Breaking the bad habit that is procrastination can be quite the task if you have been going at this habit for a long time. However, in the spirit of cutting it out of your life for good, start creating a schedule that you can -- and will -- stick to.

Create a schedule that fits all of your needs, that is actually manageable (yet challenging) and that makes your top tasks priorities. If your schedule seems too overwhelmingly on paper, then it is likely going to be too overwhelming in reality.

Procrastination is a nasty beast that will keep you from reaching your goals and dreams by itself, so the sooner you eliminate it, the better.

Create a schedule, stick to said schedule -- it is really that simple.

Negativity

Negative people are toxic and no one wants to be around them. A negative person will cut other people down even if they aren't trying to. Their negative ways will rub off on other people and then those people will start thinking negative thoughts -- it's a nasty cycle.

That's why you have to cut negativity out of your life, whether it is your own mindsets/thoughts or the people you closely associate with. A negative person is not going to benefit you when it comes to achieving your goals. In fact, the opposite is true.

If you are the one with negative mindsets/thoughts, then there is a good chance that others have started to cut you out of their lives, and that is probably a very, very painful pill to swallow.

Having a positive mindset is one of the keys to success. Positive people go out and chase their dreams, and they tend to think anything is possible with determination and hard work.

Negative mindsets and people have to go, because they are killing your success by themselves.

Settling

Never settle, especially if you are unhappy with your current situation. Settling leads to you not reaching your potential. It also leads to unhappiness, you not making as much money as you should and you not doing your most passionate work.

In hopes of eliminating the bad habit that is settling, get out of your dead-end job, start looking for jobs/careers that you are passionate about and then start applying like a madman. Of course, you should find a job before you quit your current one.

Everyone deserves to be happy, which is why you shouldn't settle on anything, especially relationships or a job. You have the power to make your life better and you have the power to live the life that you want to live.

Stop settling, stop procrastinating and stop being negative (or associating with negative people). Instead, start chasing your dreams, make an amazing schedule and look for the positives in every single situation. Those three things alone could lead you down the amazing path that is having a happy and successful life.
